The Italian luxury fashion house Armani is unanimously recognised and desired by almost all fashion enthusiasts around the globe. Well known for its minimalist style that exudes quality, the Armani house of fashion retails its products under numerous labels. These include Giorgio Armani Privé, Giorgio Armani, Armani Collezioni, Emporio Armani, Armani Jeans, Armani Junior, and Armani Exchange. Though its launch in 1975 was focused on the fashion realm, it has since expanded to other sectors such as furnishings (Armani/Casa), confectionery (Armani/Dolci), floristry (Armani/Fiori), and hotels (Armani/Hotels).

Armani Jeans was a more affordable fashion label established by the Armani house of fashion in 1981. Well-known for its high-quality denim collection, the label is different from the characteristic minimalist style reflected in the house of Armani. The Armani Jeans brand encourages more interesting, bright, and eye-catching patterns, colours, and styles. Moreover, while the parent brand uses either small and subtle logo placements or none at all, the branding is much more evident in this diffusion line. Armani Jeans produces its standard styles (such as J07, J12, J15, etc.) every season but in different denim washes (indigo, black, blue, etc.), rip repairs, and tonal stitching. This allows the returning and loyal customers to benefit from the same style and fit that suits them perfectly but in different colours, washes, and stitches. However, in the spring of 2018, Armani Jeans was combined with Emporio Armani. Armani Collezioni was another line that was met with the same end. Hence reducing the collections to only 3 main lines, Giorgio Armani, Emporio Armani, and Armani Exchange. The founder stated the following reason for the change, “there was too much confusion with so many collections, times have changed, and we have to evolve.” This will provide a more straightforward, consistent, and universal communication strategy. Which will further enhance the brand messaging as there will only be a few brands to focus on right now as opposed to before.
